FR EX Mortar is a high-performance fire-resistant sealing compound used to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and sound through service penetrations in fire-rated walls and floors. Supplied as a dry powder, it forms a thermally insulating compound when mixed with water. It is easy to apply, smooth to finish, and ideal for sealing around cables, conduits, and pipework. Once cured, it delivers excellent fire protection and acoustic insulation.

- Classified for use in walls and floors made of concrete, brick, gypsum, aerated concrete, etc.
- Suitable for sealing cable trays, cable bundles, racks, steel, copper, Alupex, and plastic pipes
- Forms a smooth, paintable finish after curing
- No priming needed on most common substrates
- Fully sets within 1 hour; fire ratings achieved after 1 month curing
- CE/UKCA marked and tested to EN 1366-3:2004 and EN ISO 10140-2:2010
- Not suitable for ovens, fireplaces, or BBQ applications
- Not intended for dynamic joints or door/frame installations
- Should not be used where movement is expected
- Metal services in contact must be corrosion protected
- Certified for use in walls, though boards are recommended for best wall sealing results
- Offers sound insulation up to Rw 64 dB depending on application type
- Slight expansion (~1%) during curing for tight seals
- Easy to sand, cut, or drill once cured
- Off-white finish that can be overpainted
- Shelf life: 18 months (unopened)

- EI 120 to EI 240 rating in various wall and floor configurations
- Can achieve fire resistance of up to 240 minutes in appropriate assemblies

Installation & Maintenance:
- Apply directly to clean surfaces using simple mixing and casting techniques
- Fire seals should be inspected at least once every 12 months

- Product must be installed by trained professionals
- Installers should follow passive fire stopping guidelines and applicable building codes
- CDM regulations and ASFP guidance should be followed during planning and installation
